We’re now half way through our summer series and have some great nights and some very wet nights. A week ago I was thinking “At last Summer’s here” & then …
Based on the average for January we are going to run the “Summer” series until the end of Daylight savings at the start of April provided weather permits. These will be in a rotating roster of parks in the early evenings on Tuesdays and Fridays from 6:30 PM.
Our late January, early-mid February schedule is:
January 27th in Te Pai Park, 31-35 Te Pai Place, Henderson.
With open grass spaces and lots of mature trees to provide shade. We’ll be on the grassed area backing on to Lincoln road near the corner with Te Tai Place.
Jan 30th in Mt Albert Memorial Park, Mount Albert. Best known as the home of the iconic Rocket Park, the reserve is also the home of a large community centre and other amenities. We aim to set up in the trees close to New North Road, more-or-less opposite the Mt Albert Baptist Church.
February 6th in Potters Park, Balmoral. Another beautiful grassed hillside on the corner of Balmoral & Dominion Roads we’ll set up near the 5.6 metre walking boy statue.
Feb 13th in Coyle Park, Pt Chev a 5 hectare park, with grassy open spaces, mature trees, harbour views, and impressive cliff faces at the other end of Point Chevalier Road to where we used to perform outside the now replaced library. We try to perform just to the left when you come through the gates at the end of Point Chevalier Road.
Feb 17th Library Square, 3 Memorial Drive, New Lynn. A beautiful bricked square in the centre of New Lynn. Our photo doesn’t show it, but there is limited seating to the right of the library.
Feb 20th in front of the Band Stand in Auckland Domain. There’s no address for the bandstand but maps apps may recognise this pin. Enter the park from Park Road, near the hospital, follow the road around and the parking and band stand are on your right about 400 metres in.
More information on each gig is available from our Park Comedy website’s calendar. All parks run on a 5 week schedule.
All our shows are true open mics with a continuously rotating cast. If you’d like to perform, you can sign-up to perform at our google form or just come along to watch and if you’d like a go, talk to the MC and we’ll squeeze you in if we can.
If you feel you’d like to have a try at being MC for a comedy show or two. Just come along & chat to Julia & we’ll try to fit you into our schedule fairly soon.

We’ll keep a close eye on the weather forecast for the day of the show & if possible will give two hours warning of any cancellations by posting a message on the Facebook event for the show. We can’t always get notifications out quickly on other places so please tag yourself as going on our Facebook events.
Looking forward to seeing you there.
